The Apple TV hasn't seen a major hardware or software change ever since 2012 when the 3rd generation Apple TV came out. However, at this years September event, the Apple TV saw the upgrade it needed to survive, with a touch-based remote control, Siri voice integration, a redesigned UI, gaming, and much more.
And a lot of people are excited for it. Lots of rumors swirled around the internet about what the new set top box would look like, what the UI could appear as, if there'd be a touch-based and Siri integrated interaction with the TV, and the list goes on and on. It's huge what Apple's doing, since they're upgrading a now $69 multimedia center that you can watch movies on. And that's pretty much it. But now the question rises: will consumers purchase this new media streamer, gaming console, and $149 price tagged hybrid? |
