Yesterday, Apple released it's 4th beta of watchOS 2, the newest update for the Apple Watch. If you're like me, you don't own one of Apple's wearables, and quite frankly watchOS 2 doesn't really make an impact on your digital life the same way iOS and OS X do.
But, surprisingly, Apple has sold quite a few Watches, which opens up a passageway into the smartwatch market for Apple. They haven't entered a new product category, before this, since the original iPad. That's 5 years of Apple improving what they already have. So, obviously, it's about time Apple took another leap of faith into another product category.
A lot of people are thrilled about their newest Watch, but at the same time a lot of people aren't thrilled with it, due to the fact that apps take quite some time to launch, the interface isn't all that easy to navigate, and it's price tag is pretty steep: we're talking anywhere from $350 to a whopping $17,000. But that doesn't stop most people from buying Apple's latest product.
So with these facts just stated and with Apple hearing all of this, they've been hard at work trying to improve the Watch in areas they feel comfortable in. Those areas include, well, the operating system. And.... that's it (at least for now).

So what are these features you may ask? Well, it's certainly not a huge visual overhaul, that's for sure. But they do have some welcome improvements so far that will make the Watch more functional and easier (and quicker mind you) to use.
These features include:
So as you can see, there is a reason to care about Apple's next update for their Watch. Of course, unless you have one, it won't effect you and your life, but if you do, in fact, have one, then this update will feel much better then the current version of watchOS.
Look for the full version of the latest OS this fall, alongside the final builds of iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan.
These features include:
- Apps which are stored natively on the Watch
- New Watch faces
- Third-party complications
- Time Travel function on Complications
- Nightstand mode
- And much more...
