1. Overall SpeediOS 8 was a big, heavy, slow mess, clocking in at 4.58 GB in size. That caused a big inconvenience already due to the fact that most people were out of space on their iPhones. So there was no downloading it at all. Besides, even if they did, it would slow down their devices, especially the 4S. With iOS 9, Apple refined the size and shrunk it down to a mere 1.3 GB and made enhancements to the overall system to speed up your iPhone 4S big time. This is probably caused by the fact that they removed iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Keynote, etc that everyone put in their "Junk" folder on their phone. So now all you iPhone 4S users who have iOS 7 (yes, I'm looking at you, Mom!) and fear iOS 8, live in fear no more! iOS 9 will be the best thing Apple will do with the old 4S.
3. SecurityThere's no doubt iOS 7 and 8 were very secure. Apple is known for making their software safe from viruses and hackers. But iOS 9 takes it a step further, with a 6-digit passcode to unlock your phone and two-factor authentication for your Apple ID. Small features like this will make your 4S so secure, you didn't even know you needed this much security.

2. Up-To-DateSo you just realized Android Marshmallow is coming out soon and you're super pumped about it and can't wait to get it on your 4 year old Jelly Bean smartphone. Let me just stop you right there. You're not gonna be able to install such a powerful OS on your little ol' Jelly Bean device. Sorry. But I can't say the same thing about Apple. The iPhone 4S, as previously stated, is turning 4 this year. So you'd expect for me to say the same thing about that, right? Wrong! Apple has worked hard to make sure the iPhone 4S and iPad 2, which is also turning 4 this year, will get iOS 9, their most powerful version of iOS so far. And they're not cutting corners to make it happen either. So all you iPhone users with the oldest-of-the-old (sorry iPhone 4 users, not talking about you), you'll be up-to-date next month!
4. Battery LifeApple has now optimized iOS with battery saving tweaks and enhancements, like when you place your phone screen down on a table, it won't light up. Apple explained it pretty well themselves.
"Across the entire operating system, apps and key technologies have been made more efficient to trim battery usage wherever possible — so you get more battery life for the things you do every day. Thanks to ambient light and proximity sensors, your iPhone knows if it’s facedown on the table and prevents the screen from turning on, even when you receive a notification. And the new Low Power mode lets you extend your battery life even further." So now you know that your iPhone 4S battery will improve by a longshot with iOS 9 |
Like I said before, iOS 9 doesn't come out until next month, but when it does, all you iPhone 4S users should jump on the bandwagon and upgrade. Really. It'll do wonders.
