A new report from BuzzFeed News states that Apple will release it's highly-anticipated Apple TV refresh in September, the same month Apple is expected to release their new iPhones.

Apple had originally planned to release it's new digital media streaming set-top-box in June at WWDC, but pulled it from the show at last minute. A September announcement and release has been circling the internet ever since Apple decided to pull the product from WWDC this year.

BuzzFeed News said to "expect a refreshed and slimmer chassis and new innards; Apple’s A8 system on chip; a new remote that sources say has been “drastically improved” by a touch-pad input; an increase in on-board storage; and an improved operating system that will support Siri voice control. Crucially, the new Apple TV will debut alongside a long-awaited App Store and the software development kit developers need to populate it."

Yesterday, Apple released it's 3rd public beta for their latest OS X update El Capitan. The update comes to all public beta testers (non-developer account holders) in the form of an App Store update.

Following the 5th developer beta of El Capitan, public beta 3 doesn't add new features, but improves the already great ones on. This beta seems to focus mainly on bug fixes which is the same case for developer beta 5.

All public beta testers can download the update from the Mac App Store.

Yesterday, Apple released 3 new Watch TV ads on their YouTube channel showcasing third-party apps. The commercials are named "Music Apps", "Fitness Apps", and "Travel Apps" respectively.

The commercials are each 15 seconds long and manage to get right to the point. Each of the ads showcase third-party apps while music plays in the background.

Today, Apple released its 5th developer beta for the latest version of OS X, El Capitan.

The previous beta seemed to focus mainly on bug fixes and Improvements rather then new features so that's what you can expect in the latest build of OS X.

This will most likely be the case for the rest of the betas that will soon come but if there are new feature announcements or other breaking new concerning this matter, trust MBEDDED to give you the latest.

All developers can download Beta 5 from the Mac App Store right now as an update to Beta 4.

Public beta testers will not have access to this build but rather Public beta 2 which was just released recently.

A Japanese blog called Macotakara, which is known for releasing info about unreleased Apple products and news, today stated that the iPad mini 4 could take after some features of the iPad Air 2, including the 6.1mm thick design opposed to the current 7,5mm thick body, along with an improved 8MP camera on the rear. Also rumored is that the mini 4 could also see the Air 2's fully laminated display tech and antireflective coating for an overall better viewing experience.

The report also claims that the mini 4 will launch alongside the much rumored 12.9-inch "iPad Pro".

The iPad mini 4, as reported by numerous sources, could be the last 7.9-inch tablet Apple will make, making it the very last iPad mini.

Yesterday in a press release, Best Buy announced that they will become the 1st national reseller, besides Apple, to sell the Apple Watch inter physical and online stores. Best Buy says the Watch will hit more then 100 stores on August 7 and will be avail be for purchase online as of that date as well. Best Buy will add on another 200 locations where the Watch will be avail be by the time holiday shopping comes around.

Best Buy also said they will sell 16 variants of Apple Watches each being either Sport or Watch models. The company said they won't be selling the Edition.

They also stated they'll be selling "nearly 50 different accessories" for the Watch including watch bands, screen protectors, charging cables, and stands. The type of band Best Buy will be selling hasn't been revealed, leaving the question whether they'll sell Apple-made Watch bands or sell 3rd party manufacturers bands.

“The Apple Watch is an important addition to an emerging product category, and we know our customers want it,” said Jason Bonfig, senior category officer at Best Buy. “We are excited to bring Apple Watch to more consumers, especially with the holidays coming up.”



Best Buy said they'll be updating their website within the next few days with more information regarding the Apple Watch and where it will become available for purchase on August 7.

The 1st trailer for Magnolia Pictures' "Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine" has been officially released, following the premier of the actual documentary 4 months ago in Austin, TX. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, the documentary portrays Jobs as both a tech visionary and unapologetic leader throughout his career at Apple. 

Eddy Cue, a senior executive at Apple, expressed his disappointment toward the film on Twitter, stating "it's an inaccurate and mean-spirited view of my friend (Jobs)." He also stated "it's not a reflection of the Steve I know."

Apple has officially pulled Google's Nest smart thermostat from their physical and online stores in preparation for more HomeKit-compatible devices such as the Ecobee 3 which went on sale earlier this month.

The Ecobee is one of the first HomeKit-compatible smart thermostats available from Apple. It retails for $249 and is fully compatible with HomeKit and Siri. So you could tell Siri, "Hey Siri, set the temperature to 70 degrees." and the Ecobee would set the temp to 70.

However this might seen like a shock to some people, this isn't the first time Apple has done something like this: a report from 9to5Mac claims that "following the announcement of Apple Watch, Apple stopped selling the Fitbit fitness tracking lineup of devices. Not only was Fitbit a competitor to Apple, but it also refused to support Apple’s HealthKit platform. Apple also removed the Jawbone and Nike fitness bands from its retail stores prior to the launch of Apple Watch, although the former of the two returned after missing for 3 months."

Word is unclear at this point for why Apple decided to remove the Nest from their stores. After all, Nest was co-founded by former Apple engineers Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers.

Who really knows though? The Nest could in fact make a return just like Jawbone's products did, but with Apple  streamlining the accessories it offers, it seems pretty unlikely.
