Today, we're announcing that MBEDDED is moving to Wordpress, one of the world's best blogging platforms. We currently have our new site up on the servers, but the link isn't ready yet. We'll update this post when it is, however.

We are also proud to announce that MBEDDED is expanding beyond just Apple news. We are now going to offer Apple news, Google news, Microsoft news, Samsung news, LG news, HTC news, etc. Literally anything tech-related will be posted on our site.

We're really proud of the changes we're making to MBEDDED. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Our current site, www.mbedded.weebly.com, will be shut down as soon as we move all of our stuff from it to our new one. Don't worry, though. You've still got a couple of weeks to say goodbye to the current MBEDDED.

This probably means nothing at all to no one at all, but a new rumor out of China states that Apple's much anticipated 4-inch iPhone might not be called the iPhone 6C... it'll be the iPhone 7C.

Yes, yes, yes, start with the criticism. But it's true.

This wouldn't be a shock if Apple made this move, however. The company launched their first budget iPhone alongside the 5S with the similar model number of 5C, so it would make sense for them to launch a product with a model number as such with the flagships that are it's brothers (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus). However, this does fly up against everything else we've heard about the upcoming 4-inch smartphone, so unless we confirm that Apple actually said this rather some Chinese source, you really should put some seasoning on this statement, because everyone knows you can't sizzle a steak without a little salt.

Today, Apple opened registrations for this year's "Hour of Code", a program to teach kids 6 years and up basic computer programming skills at free one-hour workshops. Apple will be hosting these events at Apple stores around the world on December 10th at various times convenient to the public. This will be Apple's 3rd year of hosting the workshops.

Like last year, the company is also holding a number of special events in support of Computer Science Education Week and Code.org. The CEO of Code.org Hadi Partovi will be speaking at New York’s SoHo Apple Store, codeSpark’s Grant Hosford will be hosting an interactive session for kids and parents in San Francisco and Lightbot founder Danny Yaroslavski will be sharing ways for kids of all ages to learn the fundamentals of programming in Chicago’s Lincoln Park store. Other events are being held in Brussels, Sydney and Tokyo.

Apple is also providing links to free resources designed to get people started with coding, including online courses from Code.org and apps, books, podcasts and iTunes U courses in a special Learn to Code section on iTunes.

G for Gamers has released a new report with more rumors about the upcoming iPhone 7, Apple's flagship for 2016. In the report, they cite statements from "sources in China" claiming Apple is now testing at least 5 different iPhone 7 models, all with different technologies built into them.

According to the report, some of the technologies that can be found in the prototypes are as follows: a USB Type-C connector compatible with headsets, wireless charging technology, multi-Force Touch, dual camera configurations, and fingerprint recognition technology embedded within the display.

The report also states that Apple if fiddling around with AMOLED display technology, but recent reports have stated that the iPhone won't feature an AMOLED display until 2018.

If these rumors are true, and Apple does indeed have these prototypes in testing stages, these statements and reports may be the base of the rest of the rumors about the iPhone 7 until it's released. However, we do suggest taking this with a grain of salt, as these reports are coming only about 3 months after the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus came out and the fact that there is plenty of time left until we do get our first glimpse at the new iPhone.

A new report has come out by Chinese website TechWeb [Google Translate] (via GforGames) claiming Apple's rumored "iPhone 6c" could feature a colorful metal design and Touch ID, lack 3D Touch and launch in February 2016, which correspond with previous rumors which stated that the 4 inch iPhone will be released in early 2016.

The report, citing various sources, states that Apple's working on a 4 inch iPhone with a  "colorful metal body design", so if this is true, the 4 inch iPhone will most likely be called the iPhone 6C, the first variant of the iPhone 5C. However the fact Apple may be doing such a thing, Foxconn hasn't received any orders as of now for mass production of the device.

Apple's exact release plans for the so-called "iPhone 6C" remain unknown, but the report speculates about a possible January unveiling of the device, and says the budget handset could be priced between $400 and $500 in the U.S, unlike the iPhone 5C which started at $549 off-contract for the 16GB model.

The report also states that the "iPhone 5S Mark II", which is probably just an insider name amongst people involved in the 4 inch iPhone, has entered production and could be shipped at any time, and a recent research note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and other rumors point towards a 2016 release date.

It's still unclear at this time whether we'll be seeing a 4 inch iPhone, but with rumor after rumor leaking online about the device, it's beginning to look like we can start getting our hopes up.
