Today, Apple has released iOS 8.4.1 to the general public alongside OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. These updates mainly contain under-the-hood improvements with minor tweaks here and there. There's a good chance these updates will be some of the last for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite as iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan, the OS's successors, have been in beta testing since June and will be available to the public in the coming months.

Here are the updates made to iOS 8 in 8.4.1:
This release includes improvements and fixes to Apple Music. 

- Resolves issues that could prevent turning on iCloud Music Library 
- Resolves an issue that hides added music because Apple Music was set to show offline music only 
- Provides a way to add songs to a new playlist if there aren't any playlists to choose from 
- Resolves an issue that may show different artwork for an album on other devices 
- Resolves several issues for artists while posting to Connect 
- Fixes an issue where tapping Love doesn't work as expected while listening to Beats 1


Here are the updates made to OS X Yosemite in 10.10.5:
This update: 

- Improves compatibility with certain email servers when using Mail 
- Fixes an issue in Photos that prevents importing videos from GoPro cameras 
- Fixes an issue in QuickTime Player that prevented playback of Windows Media files.

The latest update for Apple's Boot Camp, Boot Camp 6, has been announced that it will support Windows 10. In case you don't already know, Boot Camp is Apple's partitioning program for an Intel-based Mac so you can run OS X and Windows on the same Mac.

The update is still propagating and isn't available to OS X users yet, but according to a new support document by Apple, Windows 10 will be compatible with the following Macs:

As Mac Rumors has stated, "Boot Camp 6 also includes support for several Mac features within Windows 10, including USB 3, USB-C, Thunderbolt, built-in SD and SDXC card slots, built-in or external Apple SuperDrives, and the Apple keyboard, mouse and trackpad. 

Windows 10 support is only available on select Macs with OS X Yosemite and the latest version of Boot Camp, which will automatically download the support software (drivers) needed to use Windows 10 on a Mac. 

Boot Camp requires an authentic copy of Windows 10 for a new installation, which can be purchased from Microsoft in an ISO file or USB stick for $119."

Apple has just released a software update for their 7th generation iPod nano following the release of the new updated versions of the iPod.

The update comes as 1.0.4 and can be downloaded through iTunes when you connect your iPod nano to your computer with the supplied lightning cable.

There is no word on if there are new features or any tweaks whatsoever, so don't expect a huge UX overhaul.

Today, Apple released an update for their Apple Store iOS app which includes support for making purchases with a gift card. This feature wasn't present in the last update, leaving angry people who just got a gift card for their birthday and had no way of spending it though Apple's Store app. The only way to pay through the Apple store app previously was with a credit or debit card.

You can either scan you gift card on the Store app with your iPhone's camera or import the gift card from Passbook. Then the gift card balance is added to the order balance.

When the latest beta of iOS 9 came out, Apple added support for WiFi Calling to AT&T subscribers, but the feature wan't active at that time. Today, however, the feature is available, but only to some people.

This could be due to AT&T testing it before the official launch, so if you don't have this feature, it's probably due to that cause.

Mac Rumors has reported that "WiFi calling was first introduced with iOS 8, and shortly after the feature debuted, AT&T announced plans to support it. The company has not made any further announcements, but it is likely an official launch will come after iOS 9 is released to the public in September. An AT&T employee who is also a MacRumors reader says that his store has not received word on an upcoming launch, so official word on further availability of WiFi calling may still be a few weeks off. "

"WiFi calling is a feature that lets calls be placed over a wireless connection when cellular connectivity is poor. It is similar in function to Apple's own FaceTime audio feature, and has thus far been limited to T-Mobile and Sprint users."

Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted on Twitter this morning that Apple could be introducing the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, and 6C all at the same time!

Next month Apple will hold their fall event where they usually show off their new iPhones, with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus being the stars last year along with the Apple Watch. Apple hasn't released a colorful variant of their handset since 2013 at the iPhone 5S launch, so for fans of the plastic-back smartphone, if Apple pulls through, this is going to be great!

Cult of Mac has suggested that "the iPhone 6c is said to boast advanced “FinFET” processors to deliver increased performance and greater power efficiency. It has also been suggested that the 6c won’t repeat the plastic look of the iPhone 5c, but instead sport a sleek all-metal form factor."

In case you missed it on Friday, Apple released their 4th ad in their "If it's not an iPhone, it's not an iPhone" campaign. The ad focuses on the iPhone's camera and it's ease of use by showcasing some pretty cool graphics on a bunch of iPhones lined up.

Earlier today, American Express announced that they are the 1st bank to launch support for corporate cards on Apple Pay. The new addition will now allow people to add American Express Corporate Credit Cards to their iPhone 6 or 6 Plus to use with Apple Pay.

The cards supported are as follows: American Express Corporate Green Card; American Express Corporate Gold Card; American Express Corporate Platinum Card; American Express Corporate Centurion Card; American Express/Business Extra Corporate Card; and the American Express Corporate Defined Expense Program Corporate Card.

New leaked 3D CAD images of the so-called "iPad mini 4" give life to older reports that the new tablet would sport a similar form factor to the iPad Air 2 with the thickness down from 7.5mm to just 6.1mm. There's also a video that was posted by @onleaks, who has a good track record, showing the CAD image renders in real time. The video can be found below:
