A new report has come out by Chinese website TechWeb [Google Translate] (via GforGames) claiming Apple's rumored "iPhone 6c" could feature a colorful metal design and Touch ID, lack 3D Touch and launch in February 2016, which correspond with previous rumors which stated that the 4 inch iPhone will be released in early 2016.
The report, citing various sources, states that Apple's working on a 4 inch iPhone with a "colorful metal body design", so if this is true, the 4 inch iPhone will most likely be called the iPhone 6C, the first variant of the iPhone 5C. However the fact Apple may be doing such a thing, Foxconn hasn't received any orders as of now for mass production of the device.
Apple's exact release plans for the so-called "iPhone 6C" remain unknown, but the report speculates about a possible January unveiling of the device, and says the budget handset could be priced between $400 and $500 in the U.S, unlike the iPhone 5C which started at $549 off-contract for the 16GB model.
The report also states that the "iPhone 5S Mark II", which is probably just an insider name amongst people involved in the 4 inch iPhone, has entered production and could be shipped at any time, and a recent research note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and other rumors point towards a 2016 release date.
It's still unclear at this time whether we'll be seeing a 4 inch iPhone, but with rumor after rumor leaking online about the device, it's beginning to look like we can start getting our hopes up.
